In 2025 CoSeC began to explore the “Grand Challenges” that are facing our communities in the next 5-10 years. The purpose of this exercise was to identify a set of high-level challenges relevant for computational research across UKRI and to produce a set of guiding statements that encompass the aims and objectives of UKRI’s Digital Research Infrastructure.
By identifying the major challenges within each of our communities, CoSeC can then help to shape a structured and challenge led approach for computational research that is able to change and evolve over time.
