2026 CoSeC Conference

The 2026 CoSeC Annual Conference will be held on Wednesday 2nd December at Manchester Central Convention Complex as part of the wider Computing Insight UK conference organised by STFC’s Scientific Computing Department.

Following a successful series of CoSeC Conferences, including the introduction of a stand-alone, co-located Day Zero event over the past two years, we are building on this for the 2026 CoSeC Conference.

Last year was a great opportunity to showcase research across the communities, strengthen networking and also introduce a new cohort of CoSeC Fellows.

The conference, now in its sixth year, will promote the research and achievements of the CoSeC communities for the past year. The day will begin with an introduction by our CoSeC Director, Stephen Longshaw. Collaborators present on a range of subjects and our 2026 CoSeC Fellows will be introduced (applications to open later this summer).

This conference reflects the achievements of the past year and the body of research that addresses the increasingly complex scientific computing challenges that we face today.

Please save the date and we encourage feedback and suggestions for old and new areas to be included:

  • Proposals for items or interest, panel sessions topics and focussed outcomes that would be appropriate for the community.
  • Positions are available to join the CoSeC Conference Organisation Committee, and a mix of experience is more than welcome.
